The What and Why of Naked Leadership
The word “naked” just seems to make people uncomfortable but the impact can be significant when you embrace the spirit of it in your leadership. Taking on a leadership role and rising higher and higher on the organizational ladder brings with it a certain pretentiousness. However, stepping out from behind that pretense frees you up to authentically connect with your people and makes you a highly followable leader.

Taking Action
At the end of each day, recall the parts of your day when you projected yourself as “strong and in control” but you didn’t actually feel that way. Imagine what might happen if you were to express an honest vulnerability and answer the following questions:
- What’s the worst outcome that you can imagine? How bad is it? How realistic is
it? What is the impact on the relationship? - What’s the best outcome that you can imagine? How good is it? How realistic is
it? What is the impact on the relationship?
