An overview of The Intentional Leader

This is not your typical training program.

The fuel that makes The Intentional Leadership so powerful in developing leaders is the 5 Cs - Commitment, Curriculum, Coaching, Community and Consistency.

You can also apply these same five critical components in any of your development efforts with your team.

1. Commitment

In order for leadership development to work, it requires a commitment — your commitment and ours. You’re here because you want a different experience in your leadership. In order to make that change, your commitment of energy, time, focus and engagement with your colleagues is essential. Know that we’re committed, too—committed to your success and helping to make this an extraordinary leadership and development experience for you.

Mike Halkias

“The Intentional Leader program, if followed, begins a process of continually honing your leadership skills. Each lesson presents a small discrete lesson, which is relatively easy to implement – but the application of multiple lessons over an extended period shows how minor changes can lead to dramatic results.”

—Mike Halkias, CPA

2. Curriculum

Traditional leadership training is usually a single event that blasts you with an information fire hose, and then you’re left on your own, trying to figure out how to implement what you’ve learned. The Intentional Leader delivers bite-sized, actionable leadership training on a weekly basis. And, we take the guesswork out of implementation. Each lesson comes with a small challenge, detailing exactly how to apply what you’ve learned.

Our flagship learning experience is comprised of 12 carefully curated series, which will allow you to develop new leadership habits, mindsets, and practices. The learning experience includes topics like:

  • The Art & Science of Delegation
  • Adapt Your Style for Communication Success
  • How to Never Break a Commitment
  • … and more

3. Coaching

Unlike other online learning programs, The Intentional Leader includes coaching as part of your learning experience. Each person is assigned a coach and we bring a coach approach to how each lesson is delivered. Our lessons move beyond the fundamentals of getting something done and help you think more deeply about the underlying issues at play.

As you apply your learning, your coach is here to answer your questions and help you overcome any day-to-day obstacles. You can message your coach via the learning platform or Slack at any time. Unlimited Virtual Coaching is included with your subscription. If you’d like more support, you can also upgrade your plan to include small group coaching or 1-on-1 coaching via phone or video conference.

Coaching is also included with your test drive. Send a question to your coach.

4. Community

It’s a fact...learning happens best when experienced together. While The Intentional Leader training occurs independently at each learner’s own pace, completing it alongside colleagues and discussing what you learned and how you applied it leads to training that sticks. The Intentional Leader coaches support you in a dedicated Slack workspace to integrate concepts, practices and skills across your team or organization and by providing discussion questions for your meetings and daily interactions.

5. Consistency

Your consistent habit of applying the learning is what creates massive movement over time. That’s why the Intentional Leader consistently delivers bite-sized leadership training on a weekly basis. It keeps leadership at the front of your mind and maintains your edge. We recommend that you intentionally create space in your calendar to watch the lesson and apply it.

To recap, the 5 Cs of the Intentional Leader are: Commitment, Curriculum, Coaching, Community and Consistency.
