Leaders often tell me they want to delegate better. When I ask them why, the answers typically revolve around getting more done and freeing them up to do other things. Those are both fine answers and are reason enough for most leaders, but consider another reason. TRUST. Probably the most impactful reason to improve your delegation is the trust that is created between you and your team and the resulting influence that will be created.
Trust in you as a leader is what causes your team to walk through a wall for you and freely volunteer discretionary effort, time, energy and commitment.
