LESSON 4

The Path to Innovation and Higher Productivity

The official name for Step 4 of the Delegation process is to “Review Final Results.” However, that implies it’s a step you only take at the end. There’s a more accurate description in the lesson of what this step is and when it should occur.

WARNING: It’s tempting to skip this step in the heat of getting it done and chalk it up as a “nice to have.” The truth is that this step is indispensable to the process and for building trust with your team.

Watch this 5-minute video to learn more.

Practice Step 4 – Review results at points along the way of a task or project (not just at the end). This is an opportunity to demonstrate a culture that accepts imperfection, celebrates mistakes and continuously improves. Ask questions such as those stated in the lesson:

  • What went (or is going) well?
  • What could have gone better?
  • How can we integrate this knowledge in how we work going forward?
  • How did I do with my delegation?
